Privacy Policy — Memento

This Privacy Policy explains how Day One Foundry LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Memento mobile application (the “App”). Memento was built to be a quiet, private place for daily reflection, and it is designed to collect no personal information at all. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. The short version

Memento has no account and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email, or phone number.
Everything you do in the App — saved passages, settings, your reminder time, and your Memento Mori birth year — is stored only on your device.
The App’s content (the Stoic passages) is bundled inside the App. Memento makes no network connections to us and sends us nothing.
We use no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no cross-app tracking.
We do not collect, sell, or share your information, because we never receive it in the first place.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not require, request, or receive any personal information, including your name, email address, postal address, or phone number. Memento has no user accounts, no social login, no contact syncing, and no servers that store information about you.

3. Information stored on your device

Your saved (favorited) passages, notification preferences and reminder time, your Memento Mori birth year, and your Pro status are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. We do not have access to this information. If you delete the App, this information is removed with it.

4. Notifications

If you turn on the optional daily reminder, the App schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. This is handled entirely by iOS on your device; no reminder content or schedule is sent to us.

5. Purchases

Memento offers an optional “Pro” subscription. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s In-App Purchase and StoreKit systems. We never receive or store your payment card details. Your subscription status is managed by Apple and read by the App on your device to unlock Pro features. Apple’s handling of your purchase information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

6. Advertising and tracking

Memento displays no advertisements, contains no advertising identifiers, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

7. Children’s privacy

Memento does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The App is rated for general audiences and contains no objectionable material.

8. Your rights

Because Memento has no account and stores everything on your device, you remain in full control of your information at all times. You can remove all of it by deleting the App. We hold no personal data about you to access, correct, or delete, and we do not sell personal information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
